So I'm gonna tell step by step how are the things done at my band house. Cheaply and easily and almost perfect system in standard band use. Including Pictures, Video & Figure, Enjoy!
What I'm using when recording:
Standard type stereo amplifier - Monarch 808H
-Just for amping speakers.
Mixer - Yamaha MG10/2
-Usefull in raw mixing
2 passive Speakers - Sansui S-710
-Nice old but little used speakers
Casette Deck - Pioneer CT-F500
-Pretty useless nowadays. 70-80's \,,/ ^^
M-Audio Fast Track Pro

Vintage Stuff, Working Stuff
Amp, speakers and casette deck wich I'm using in Monarch's "AUX 2" are REAL vintage stuff. They are cheap and bought from flea market. Not really sure about exact prices. But as u know home artists budget ain't so wide.
Those big and pretty good looking soft sounded Sansui S-710 passive speakers with brand new overlook by price of only 35€. Not too much. In summary Old, cheap but working stuff.
Different Styles Getting The Sound Out
Maybe the easiest way to do this stuff is to maybe get a amplified mixer and use passive speakers or use this type of mixer wich has no amplification and use active speakers. I also have extra active speakers at my band house right now.
Centeral thing here is the Mixer so it costs little bit more. It's compact sized and easy to use and understand. With it, all the most awesome things are possible. It's plugged from it's phones to Monarchs "AUX 1" As you can see in my explanation map I hope that picture explains everything else.
Things, not explained in the picture
The Mixer has few other outs where my dad likes to use these 2 active speakers wich I mentioned before. For left channel there is standard type active speaker. For right channel there is a little bass element because it's plugged to port "active" in our Behringer bass amplifier. Just gives you deepness and more bass all you play trough the mixer. Not a perfect stereo feel, but works for rough situation. To us important is just to hear the sound wide.
Singing karaoke with smartphone or laptop
Yep. That's done. Mixer can handle any type of singnal even a video audio from laptop. But I like to wire my Samsung Galaxy S3 to channel 7/8 with small stereo plug. Then me and pepole can form a little karaoke party.
Rec Out is just awesome
Now let's think standard recording. Maybe the easiest way to record is to just plug laptop's "mic in" to Yamaha MG10/2 (Mixer)'s Rec Out. Put Audacity (Freeware) on link here (Audacity Homepage) and press button "record".
I had one certain type of problem. When I started to record the second track for a song. It offsynced. It was little late in playback. Well anybody who have this same problem. Make yourself a favor and buy a External Audio Device. I'm currently using the M-Audio Fast Track Pro. I also have Avid Fast Track Duo. This makes mixer pretty useless..
The music corner of mine.
I'm recording trough mixer by using a microphone, do it stereo or just straight record. You can do it track by track. Do little raw mixing with mixer and then mix it in FL Studio the way you like it. Mix mix mix it's just A-W-E-S-O-M-E.
